Why is PLACE Important? Today more than any other time in history, people are bombarded with multiple choices as to how to give their time. They find themselves asking, "Where do I fit in?", "Why am I here?" and "What can I do to make a lasting difference in my life and the lives of others?"
God created each of us for a purpose. "For we are God's workmanship created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do." Ephesians 2:10. Part of his purpose for us is to edify the church and to serve in its ministries. "...to prepare God's people for the works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up." Ephesians 4:12.
The PLACE process can help you discover how God has uniquely designed you, and it will help you realize His purpose for your life. You find your life as you give it away ... but first you have to know what you have to give.
Believe in PLACE Ministries? While we focus on helping churches equip its membership to maximize their God-given skills and talent, we are a 501c3 non-profit organization. We generate our revenue from selling the resources on our site, as well as providing training and consulting services. PLACE is a Bible-based, self-discovery process that helps pastors, church members, lay leaders and others realize their ideal PLACE of ministry in life and in the local church. PLACE was created out of a desire to help pastors design and maximize church ministries. It was also designed to equip Christians to serve in ministries that bring fulfillment in their Christian walk and help them carry out God's plan for their life. The PLACE acronym forms a five-step process that guides participants in developing an individualized PLACE profile. Note: Sometimes the various types of assessments are also referred to as a type of test, ie spiritual gifts test or assessment test). Understand the difference between an assessment vs. test
Upon completion of the five PLACE sessions, individuals have their life snapshot on their completed PLACE profile. They begin to see the scarlet thread that runs between the five elements assuring them that God has uniquely designed them and that he doesn't waste one single thing in our lives! He truly does cause all things to work together for good (Romans 8:28). |

For 10 years, we have been helping individuals and church ministries go through a self-discovery process to define their spiritual gifts and life ministry. We also hold workshop training to leverage each individual's God-given skills and talents. It is our pleasure and honor to come along individuals and church ministries to help them define their skills and talents. We know it enriches each individual's life, as well as those all around them. But don't just take our word for it, read for yourself. Below you'll find a sampling of testimonials discussing the difference we've been able to make in their personal life or church ministry. "Lots of people have told me that they wanted to take this PLACE class as a means of being able to better position themselves in the marketplace. It's been very enlightening to see how these principles have been reaching them. I've seen how many people are a lot more confident when they are in their right spot. It's a win-win-win for the individual, the church and the Body of Christ as a whole." "We had 450 church members volunteer for church ministry following our first PLACE Ministries workshop! Using PLACE resources gives me the ability to correctly match church ministry opportunities with each person's unique personality, skills, passions and life experiences resulting in more effective ministry and happier volunteers." "After much research, I found PLACE Ministries to be a good 'fit' for us in so many ways. We have hosted 3 workshops in the past 7 months and 'placed' over 130 people in our church ministries. How exciting to see people for the first time in their lives to succeed and be fulfilled because of the discovery process of PLACE." "I am delighted to recommend PLACE Ministries. All too often congregations overlook the importance of enabling their members to know and use their spiritual gifts. PLACE addresses this issue by providing a wide array of excellent resources." "We have conducted 2 PLACE workshops thus far and have 4 more scheduled this year." "Our church has found that PLACE Ministries resources changes lives by helping people discover who they are in Christ. We are thankful for the power of these resources." "I've seen and used lots of gift assessment tools and feel this is one of the better ones." "PLACE workshops provide the process that enables church ministry leaders to effectively match ministry volunteers to ministry opportunity. We have used PLACE for several years." "I had taken several different types of a personality assessment and spiritual gifts inventory tests prior to attending the PLACE workshop. PLACE is the FIRST to actually help me understand the connection between my personality characteristics, abilities, passions and life experiences, and how it better equips me for more effective ministry." "PLACE Ministries and Jay McSwain are making a profound impact on the ministry of First Baptist Church. We are fully embracing the PLACE program for connecting people to church ministry and we greatly appreciate the integrated approach of PLACE to examine a person in a multifaceted manner before providing feedback and ministry direction." "It is essential as members of the body of Christ that we find our PLACE in Him (Jesus). PLACE Ministries is a vital part of that process in helping us achieve our purpose." "I have found the JOY that only comes with knowing and serving HIM through serving others in the PLACE ministry. I'm re-energized and blessed every weekend when I walk through the doors of Springcreek and see so many faces filled with the joy and peace of making a difference in someone's life. If God were ever to move us from Springcreek, my ministry would be to facilitate PLACE workshops wherever He might choose to send us. I just can't imagine serving in any other capacity. PLACE is that important to me." "My concern is for seeing individuals use their God-given gifts and talents to minister in the local church, on their jobs, in their communities in a focused and intentional manner, with all deliberate speed, without excuse. As an educator, PLACE is the tool that has addressed many of the reservations to serve from a Biblical standpoint. PLACE creates for the individual a level of confidence and self assurance that may have been lacking, but needed, in order to do ministry. |
