How do you get your people off the pew and engaged in meaningful volunteer ministry? What a huge, complex, yet completely relative question. If only we had a simple solution. I have realized that there are no simple solutions to the complexities we face in life and ministry. Simple solutions tend to make great selling book titles and that is about it. Yet there is a solution to engaging and mobilizing your people into meaningful ministry.

A real solution…

I have been involved in PLACE Ministries for the past 5 years as a participant and as a leader in training volunteers. I can tell you that there is no other ministry available that utilizes the vast array of assessment tools in a more directed manner than PLACE. As a participant in a workshop I was guided through a series of assessments that enabled me to see that I was fearfully and wondrously made for a purpose. These assessments proved to me that there was a reason that I was wired the way I was and there was a specific ministry for me that would produce meaning and fulfillment. But PLACE is much more than just skill testing or skill assessment. This leads to great personal discover but what then. Personal discover does not equal Ministry Placement.

More than self discovery…

A connection coach is utilized in the PLACE process and I believe this is the key to making this material more than just a series of assessments for self discovery. This coach is able to use the DISC assessment coupled with a spiritual gifts assessment and other skill testing to actually guide the participant to areas of ministry that are in line with their personality and gifting. I have seen several hundred people discover that they were created to be involved in ministry. This is the catalyst that will move people off the pews. This is exactly what cinched it for me.
