Spiritual Gifts Assessment vs. Spiritual Gifts Test

It takes time and reflection to understand your spiritual gift and how you can personally contribute to your ministry. The good news is that we offer various skills tests and learning assessments to help you along the path to clarify your unique attributes and personal passions.

But what is the difference between a test and an assessment? It's semantics really.

Spiritual Gifts TestTypically a test is presented to an individual to determine their knowledge on a specific subject. There are usually a selection of questions for which there is a correct and incorrect answer. When the test is completed, a pass or fail is achieved based on how many questions were answered correctly.

Tests take many forms – everything from a pop quiz to an exam at school through to the test you took for your driver's license. In addition to a spiritual gifts test, some other types of tests include:

  • •   Inventory test
  • •   Skills tests
  • •   Personality test
Spiritual Gifts AssessmentAn assessment differs to a test. Generally an assessment is presented to an individual – and based on the answers provided to the various questions, an assessment of that individual is generated. Basically, it is an opinion of yourself. There are no right or wrong answers – just answers that are specific to that individual's experiences, skill sets and interests.

With each of the spiritual gifts tests and assessments that we make available to you to help you understand your unique spiritual gift, just think of them all as an assessment. Here at PLACE Ministries, we prefer the term 'assessment.' There are no right or wrong answers – just an insight into your personal attributes. When analyzed, this insight into your specific spiritual gifts will help you to understand how you can assist your church ministry.
