D Personality….  I’ve accepted the mandated quarantine but I am not very happy about it.  At first, I thought that this was all way overblown and still feel that way to some degree.  All I know is this, we need to be careful because this could easily set us back and even cause a recession or depression if we are not careful.  We cannot stay shut down forever.

At some point, we are going to have to make a decision to get back to normal.  This is a good time for all of us in the family to get focused.  We have a lot of time on our hands and we don’t need to waste it.  Let’s spend time together doing some things we normally don’t get to do.  Let’s get outdoors.  If we pick up meals for a restaurant we need to pick up locally.

The community needs our support. Stay strong, hang in there.  We’ll get through this and will be stronger on the other side of it…. If we don’t wait too long.

So how do DISC personalities experience being quarantined personally, and with those they are being quarantined together with at home?

I am like almost everyone reading this email in that in the past few weeks I have had lots of Skype, GoToMeeting, Zoom, and phone calls with those who serve with me at PLACE Ministries.  A couple of my team members, Jamie Parler and Barbara Valerioti wrote interesting insights to me that I want to share with you.  We don’t want to trivialize the situation but all of us need a smile or two these days.  And with most of us confined to our homes it will be a good time to learn how people think and process through the lens of their personalities.

During the next 8 days, I will rotate what Jamie and Barbara wrote for each DISC personality.  On the 9th day, I will write and let you know my thoughts and how I have interacted as a spiker D personality with family, co-workers, friends, acquaintances, and strangers through the last few weeks.  On day 10 I want to give you a few words on hope and encouragement as we go through this experience together.
