We rotated the first eight days between Jamie and Barbara Valerioti and what they wrote for each DISC personality. Yesterday I gave you some of my thoughts as a D Personality (both good and still growing) on how I have interacted as a spiker D personality with family, co-workers, friends, acquaintances, and strangers through the last few weeks. Today, I want to conclude our 10 days of how DISC personalities experience quarantine with hope and encouragement. And yes I will word it from a D perspective but, I hope will be from God’s perspective.
I think the greatest hope and encouragement I can give you is to know that what is happening in our country and around the world with the corona virus did not take God by surprise as it has taken the world by surprise. The Bible tells us in Proverbs 16:9 (NIV) In their hearts humans plan their course, but the Lord establishes their steps.
You can have hope and encouragement IF you recognize you don’t have to understand everything to know God is in control. The Bible tells us in I Corinthians 13:12 (NIV)For now we see only a reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known.
And know that the one who hung the stars in the sky and created the heavens and the earth and is in control of what happens even when you and I don’t understand why is working all things for the good of His people as Romans 8:28 (NIV) tells us And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.
Many of you are missing friends, school, work and a myriad of other activities that are part of your “normal” life. However, many of you should be encouraged as I have in having my daughter who is a freshman in college home and doing activities together that you might have never done in times gone by. My daughter, Maggie, who is a freshman in college and I have been doing daily walks in our neighborhood that wouldn’t be happening. We even have created competition with family games and like ping pong with paper plates as the paddles on the kitchen island at night.
Be encouraged that while you might not understand why what is happening is happening, God has slowed down our lives in ways for us to enjoy those closest to us in ways we never would have if what is happening wouldn’t have happened.
Be encouraged knowing you and I are planning our lives often through how we experience life through our personalities, but God is establishing our path even when we don’t understand it and His planning is for mine and for your ultimate good as His child.
Thanks for the privilege to serve!

We continue with Day 10 on how DISC personalities experience being quarantined personally and with those they are being quarantined together with at home.
In the first 8 days, we looked at the DISC personalities during quarantine from the perspectives of a couple of my team members, Jamie Parler and Barbara Valerioti; who wrote interesting insights to me that I have been sharing with you. I continue to want to emphasize that we don’t want to trivialize the situation but all of us need a smile or two these days. And with most of us confined to our homes it will be a good time to learn how people think and process through the lens of their personalities.
