Secondly, please remember that each Personality type sees and experiences the world differently even during a time when our country and much of the world is quarantined in homes with family and those who we do life with. We should be respectful and seek If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone as Paul reminds us in Romans 12:18(NIV). Seek to understand and not just be understood when others are giving their perspectives based on how God has wired their personality when they talk about the corona virus or anything during these quarantine times.
The first insight I want to share with you is that Jamie Parler who wrote from his perspective about DISC personalities in quarantine is an I Personality. And Barbara Valerioti who wrote from her perspective is a C Personality. Both Jamie and Barbara were accurate in how they reflected each DISC personality but if you go back and read through their perspectives you will likely see they wrote through the lens of their respective personalities even in how they worded sentences.
Also, I picked up that Barbara wrote something not so flattering about each personality type except the S personality which she only wrote about the S personality in a positive light. So, let me say the S Personality can become overwhelmed and almost go into a state of paralysis if they are not being directed and have too much free time without any structure. They can have all these high hopes of accomplishing much and when the quarantine is over may have accomplished little with too much unstructured time.
Serving Him Together,
We have rotated each day between Jamie and Barbara and what they wrote for each DISC personality. Today I want to give you some of my thoughts as a D Personality on how I have interacted as a spiker D personality with family, co-workers, friends, acquaintances, and strangers through the last few weeks. Tomorrow on day 10, I want to give you a few words of hope and encouragement as we go through this experience together.
We continue with Day 9 on how DISC personalities experience being quarantined personally and with those they are being quarantined together with at home.
Over the last 8 days, we have been looking at the DISC personalities during quarantine from the perspectives of a couple of my team members, Jamie Parler and Barbara Valerioti; who wrote interesting insights to me that I have been sharing with you. I continue to want to emphasize that we don’t want to trivialize the situation but all of us need a smile or two these days. And with most of us confined to our homes it will be a good time to learn how people think and process through the lens of their personalities.
Finally, I want to share a little of how I have handled the quarantine as a Spiker D Personality.
Quite frankly, not so positive. I have questioned every authority and at times, especially with my family and those closest to me shared too strongly my opinions. While I have not shown it outwardly, inwardly I have had a great deal of anxiety, fear and even at times anger, not about the health implications of the virus, but the economic uncertainty that has come upon most of us in this time.
Yes, I know I am flawed but I am grateful God is not finished with me yet! Tomorrow as we finish how DISC Personalities experience quarantine, I want to share with you my concluding thoughts. I desire to leave you with hope and encouragement as you face the quarantine and days ahead through your personality.
Thanks for the privilege to serve!
